The H.A.R.T. Center provides on-site work experience for persons with a wide range of disabilities, including but not limited to, developmental disabilities, chronic mental illness, and individuals who face physical challenges. Work opportunities are procured through area businesses and corporations. The relationship between the H.A.R.T. Center and area business is "win-win." Traditionally less expensive for a company than "temp" staff, H.A.R.T. Center employees excel and meet the demand when companies experience labor shortages, have repetitive work which slows down production lines or have work which is not cost effective. On any given day at the H.A.R.T. Center, there may be up to 145 employees completing work for any number of 35 different local corporations and businesses.

There is a wide range of work opportunities within the center. Job assignments vary with regard to difficulty and skill level. Wherever possible, jobs are assigned with regard to a person's tested or real ability as well as to provide some level of challenge for vocational growth. At any given time, there may be 15 work contracts running with various job steps inherent to each job. The following is a sample of the many work opportunities offered:
